Make yourself at Home and Enjoy your Stay

Welcome to the Barren Breeze Bed & Breakfast, where our goal is to create an experience that exceeds all your expectations.

 

Please let us know what would make your stay most enjoyable. 

Many guests enjoy the opportunity to interact and converse with other guests and the innkeepers. Meeting new people and making friends is what makes staying at a bed and breakfast special.  Whether it is conversation during breakfast, sipping coffee on the back porch admiring the sunrise or enjoying the sunset and a cold drink on the front porch, we welcome the socializing.

Some guests choose to remain to themselves and enjoy solitude. If you are here to recharge and relax, we will certainly embrace that. 

Being responsible and respectful towards other guests will make everyone’s stay most enjoyable.

 Room Booking & Rate Policies

  • Rates are based on two people – our extra person charge is $50/night.

  • A 50% deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time of making your reservation. The balance will be charged to your card the day of your arrival.

  • All reservations will be guaranteed with a credit card regardless of how the final payment is made. We accept MC, Visa, and AmEx.  Cash and Gift Certificates are also accepted.

  • Rates listed do not include Kentucky sales and occupancy taxes (10%)

  • You may invite a non-staying guest(s) to have breakfast with you by requesting it on arrival or the night before. The charge for an additional breakfast is $15.00.

Cancellations

Please understand our cancellation policies are a necessary part of managing a small bed and breakfast inn. Cancellations do affect us significantly as well as other guests that would otherwise enjoy the Barren Breeze experience.

We hold a 1 week cancellation policy. If a cancellation is received at least 1 week prior to an arrival date (excluding group or special event reservations), the deposit is refundable.

Check In / Check Out 

Check In is between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.  Arrangements for late arrivals should be made in advance with the Innkeepers.  Late check in (after 9 pm) requires special arrangements.  Early arrivals are discouraged, since our small staff is busy turning the rooms over from the previous evening’s guests to ensure everything is ready for your check in at 3:00 p.m.  If you require early check in, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Check out time is at 11:00 a.m.  Guests are asked to promptly check out of the inn at this time, so our staff can begin to prepare the inn for incoming guests.

 

Breakfast

A full gourmet breakfast is served every morning from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.  If you have special requests outside of these times due to booked activities please let us know so we can provide alternate arrangements.

For our Early Birds we have juice, coffee, tea and pastries available earlier.

Please inform us in advance of allergies or dietary restrictions.  We will take care to ensure your dietary needs are honored. 

We also can prepare additional meals such as picnic lunch or dinner at an additional charge and a 24-hour notice.

 

General Inn Policies

 

Damages / Stolen Property - We accept that accidents can happen and are used to dealing with these situations with good humor. If you do have an accident, please let us know at once as it is much easier, and often less expensive, to deal with spills, etc. before the stains set in. Theft of room items or damage that has been concealed and discovered after your departure will be charged at cost of repair/replacement, plus any loss of income from room rental if applicable. We will charge your credit card $250 immediately upon finding the damage and you will be notified by email. Once the full cost of the damage or replacement is determined, we will email you with the final expense to you.

 

Smoking  - Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside of the inn or on the porches. Smokers who are responsible and respectful of our other guests may smoke in designated outside areas.  Please do not litter smoking materials on the property grounds. For the safety of the inn and courtesy to our guests we ask that you honor this policy. Room cleaning and fumigation time leads to a loss of room revenue and can cost us well over $500, a fee that will be charged to your credit card.

 

Pets & Children -  Although some of our favorite living things are beloved pets and children we do have strict policies on them.  To preserve the enjoyment of all of our guests looking for a relaxing and romantic stay we are unable to accommodate pets or children under the age of 10 in our Main Rooms.  We do invite guests with pets and children to stay in the Green Mountain Suite. 

There is a $25 fee per day for pets to cover additional maintenance and cleaning costs.  Pets are expected to be on their leash in public areas at the B&B.

 

Parking - There is ample parking on site.  We do offer space for RV’s and boat trailers.  Please let us know in advance and we will coordinate.

 

Quiet Time - We ask that all guests be considerate of excessive noise levels especially from 10pm to 7am. 

If you are hosting an event at the venue and have booked all rooms at Barren Breeze then Noise, Pet and Children restrictions are relaxed.
