Planning an Intimate Wedding Weekend or Destination Wedding at a Kentucky Bed & Breakfast

We quickly realized that couples are looking for a wedding weekend experience and they are downsizing on large guests lists and investing in intimate, smaller weddings with guests closest to them spending the weekend with the couple. Whether you are from Kentucky or you are looking to create a destination wedding, we love having a house full.
Planning a cozy wedding weekend allows couples to shift their focus from logistics to experience. At Barren Breeze we specialize in weddings that unfold naturally over several days rather than a single event.
The couple settles in on Friday so they can welcome their guests as they arrive. We show guests to their pre-assigned rooms and give them the tour of the property and common spaces.
Decorating and coordinating begins Friday with vendors and family members to ensure that Saturday is seamless and all about the Bride.
After guests settle in, rehearsal and dinner Friday night takes place on the deck, at the Venue or near the pool. Everyone is relaxed, the set-up is seamless and allows the wedding day to be the heart of the celebration, ample space for getting ready, the ceremony, and an unhurried and relaxed reception.
Saturday...the moment your guests all came for, it's Wedding Day! Breakfast is served and it allows for the Bride & Groom to eat (which becomes VERY important later in the day) and take a few moments to relax. We will greet photographers, hair and make-up artists, florists, DJ's to get them settled and set up so the happy couple can focus on finishing up their vows(for the procrastinators) and taking excited deep breaths.
Chairs for the ceremony get set up, last minute walk throughs to make sure everything is picture perfect and then those magical moments when the bride makes her way down the stairs to start her journey to her soon to be husband. This is one of my favorite moments of the day.

Sunday's Breakfast begins with a quiet start and strong coffee on the porch for the early risers. Usually a fresh fruit plate and some home made pastries make an appearance. Once the Newlyweds arrive, breakfast is served. The room is filled with love and laughter as everyone reminisces on the day before. The wedding weekend closes with a gentle farewell, and memories that will last a lifetime

With on-site lodging, guests can relax fully without the need to travel between locations. The atmosphere feels less like an event and more like a gathering of loved ones. Your wedding day will become a fond memory for you and every one of your guests. For couples seeking meaning, simplicity, and connection, an intimate wedding weekend creates memories that last far beyond the final toast.
